Terry Davies

Terry started his professional composing at the National Theatre where he had been an experienced music director and orchestrator. He is an associate artist of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, composing for all their new pieces and winning an Oliver Award for Play Without Words. As well as his compositions, he has conducted the music for about 60 feature films and a similar number of TV programmes.

The films Terry has conducted include Florence Foster Jenkins, Youth (including David Lang’s Best Song Oscar nomination 2016), Mr. Turner (nominated Best Original Score, Oscars 2015 for Gary Yershon) and The King’s Speech (Oscar for Best Motion Picture). Terry’s songs for Tipping the Velvet received a BAFTA nomination.
